The CIF North Coast Section covers schools along the north

coast of California from Fremont to the Oregon border

(excluding schools in San Francisco and Oakland which have

their own sections).  Athletic competition is divided into five

divisions by school enrollment:

Division 1 – 2,051 and above

Division 2 – 1,601 – 2,050

Division 3 – 1,151 – 1,600

Division 4 – 500 – 1,150

Division 5 – 499 & fewer.


The North Coast Section today had their dual meet team championship tournaments.  The Livermore Cowboys participated in the Division 2 tournament and went undefeated on the day to become the NORTH COAST SECTION CHAMPIONS.  They dominated every team they faced and won by the following scores:

LHS 75 – Mt. Diablo 6

LHS 55 – Alhambra 22

LHS 43 – Las Lomas 27

A team winning the North Coast Section Championship is rare and extraordinary accomplishment!

The Cowboy team members as well as Coach Guidry and his assistants are to be congratulated!


The North Coast Section today held their girls wrestling tournament in which female wrestlers in the North Coast Section competed by weight class for NCS Championships.  Livermore and Granada each had one wrestler compete  as follows:

SARAH GELB, Granada, 121 lb weight class – 5th Place

KAYLA SMITH, Livermore, 170 lb weight class – 5th Place

Sarah and Kayla are both to be congratulated on excellent seasons and strong NCS performances.
